The module provides an overview of the radiation safety responsibilities under Planned Exposure Code* and the terminology used to describe their approval requirements under the different states / territories.
Initially we will cover the underlying structure for defining roles. We will look at where the responsibilities arise from, their varying terminology across jurisdictions and the progression towards national consistency and mutual recognition.
We'll focus on the responsibilities of the various persons involved. Under the Planned Exposure Code* there are multiple roles with responsibilities for radiation safety in planned exposures. We will introduce those roles and the responsibilities, and the obligations placed by the legislation and Codes of Practice on each of them.
